THE CHORUS LINE
The Chorus Line comprises a group of children who can be called
upon to appear in professional productions such as those at Theatr
Brycheiniog. It was formed as a result
of several successful appearances by Ribbons pupils with professional
performers such as Duncan Breeze, Peter Karrie, European Ballet, Ballet Russe
and Think Floyd. Children have also
appeared with Owen Money in the pantomimes “Dick Whittington”, “Aladdin”,
“Robinson Crusoe” and “Peter Pan”, and have been invited to take part in this
year’s pantomime, “Cinderella”.
Although the Chorus Line is
primarily for Ribbons pupils, it is also open to anyone interested in the
performing arts. The lower age limit is
seven years.
In addition to the performances,
workshops are held at Theatr Brycheiniiog on Saturday afternoons in order to
teach the children singing techniques, stagecraft etc, and obviously to
rehearse any forthcoming productions.
This year we continue to offer
the Musical Theatre Syllabus of the IDTA, giving members an opportunity to gain
nationally recognised qualifications.
If
you would like your child to join The
Chorus Line, or feel you can help in any way, please contact Lesley to discuss
the options and book a place.
